Yeah, WUT sets up a number of internet gags–the motto visible in the second panel here (very) roughly translates to “Laugh Out Loud.” This short arc establishes once and for all that Ted is still a college student, something that was sort of up in the air before now.

Like “Case Western” (as it used to be called), I don’t think WUT is actually a school in the western US proper. Since I’m from Ohio and Joe’s from Pennsylvania, WUT, and our setting of Greenwood, USA, are somewhere east of the Mississippi river and north of the 36th parallel.
