Activate Nostalgia Circuits
Try to remember…Posted Wed, 12/1/2010 by Dave

The computer in this comic is inspired by the very first computer my family owned–an IBM PS/2. I didn’t actually know what it was properly called until I started doing the research for this comic–I just knew it was some model of IBM we would have been able to buy around 1990 or so. My memories of it are foggy at best, cluttered by several decades of nostalgia and forgotten youth. But man…there’s a part of me that’s very proud to say that I can remember using a computer with less than a meg of memory.
My only regret is that I was not born sooner, that I might have lived in the era of the 8-inch floppy.
Ack! So many memories…. my elementary school had a computer lab with about 15 computers, two of which had COLOR MONITORS, which were the most awesome thing ever. Ah, tech nostalgia…

I remember using 8-inch floppies in early elementary school for typing programs. Computing sure was strange!
