Ted Gets Floppy
And now, a brief anecdotePosted Fri, 12/3/2010 by Dave

After writing this comic, I booted the command prompt and tried, on my computer, to solve the problem Ted faces here–accessing a file on a drive other than the c drive.
Ten minutes later I realized I had no clue what I was doing, had made no progress, and quit the command prompt in shame.
how to windows with the command prompt:
to change folders on the current drive try “cd foldername”
to change drives try: “f:”
without the quotes.
on a side note, that thing looks like my old windows 3.1 box. man that takes me back.
cd e: doesn’t seem to work, for some reason. Might be Windows 7, or the fact it’s an external hard drive.
But that’s neither here nor here, and I admit only a passing interest in actually learning to manipulate a command prompt these days.
“cd (drive letter):”
And people complain that Windows 7 isn’t user-friendly….
