I think lolcats have, as a meme, settled into sort of an internet background noise. But when this strip was penned, they were…well, they were on their way out, let’s be frank, but that didn’t stop us from capitalizing on it! And what could be a better choice for the lolcat treatment than a classic of literature! If Lord of the Flies was written like this, I would have had a much better experience in middle school. Of course, I might not have had any idea how to read what I was reading, but then LotF would still have been ahead of the time, no?
