And now, ladies and gentlemen, our antagonist.

Time is one of those personifications that, in some ways, was a bit of a no-brainer. Time, as we’re portraying him, isn’t truly evil…he’s more…malicious by nature. He can’t turn it off. Think about it: does time typically work in your favor? Probably not. We’ve all been there when the exam or paper deadline looms large, sudden. And yet, the good times slip away so quickly. Sometimes, you’ll say that “time is on my side,” but really, time more often seems against us.

So, we made him into a pen-pusher. I suggested this classic short film as artistic inspiration for Joe; rest assured that there will be little piratical shenanigans in this story arc. That, dear readers, is for another day.
