Until I conceived this comic I had never articulated it to myself, but I do feel that fantasy elves who shoot off a ridiculous amount of arrows and/or pull off arrow multishots are spiritual kin to the guns akimbo kind of hero that’s ubiquitous in Western, noir and sci-fi settings. In that way, I feel this comic owes something to TV Tropes. I don’t think it directly inspired the comic but I’ve been reading it a ton lately on my lunch breaks, and it has a way of working into your brain. Check if out if you haven’t before–dang cool site.
This is pretty much how crossbows are used in a world I’m inventing for a story… Except guns also exist in it too.
