It went something like this.

“Hey, how about a comic where Pestilence finds a pet and brings it home?”
“Sure! How about instead of a pet, it’s a zombie!”
“Brilliant!”

I’m not sure where the idea came from for the zombie to have the same hairstyle as Ben Franklin, but that’s just one of those touches of brilliance we work so hard to bring you, the reader. Also, it appears that the zombie is wearing a very, very small Umbrella badge on the remnants of his lab coat. That may be inspired by the annual zombie flash mob that roams the grounds at UVa…there was a guy a number of years ago with a pretty convincing getup, replete with Umbrella pin.

(If it turns out that person was Joe, boy, will my face be red!)

Also, the Ben Franklin cut is derived from my favorite Forsaken hair style in World of Warcraft.
