The cyclops burger, known by a number of other names, is a cheeseburger with a fried egg on top of it. It is delicious, but it also contains enough protein to be borderline toxic to human beings. At Virginia there’s an establishment called The Castle, which serves these culinary chimeras, and going there is something of a University rite of passage. For Brownies in particular, it’s a tradition and ritual, and sometimes a nightly one.

The thing is, most people would probably never eat them more than once if they weren’t available using that lovely dining dollars system that comes with the meal plan. When you consider that you have, in essence, already paid for the burger, the entire mindset shifts and your own personal descent into digestive misery begins. But what a tasty, tasty sort of madness it is!
