Two hip-hop related jokes in two weeks? And both of them I still find fall-down funny two years later? Maybe we should research popular music culture and write comics about it more often. This is, of course, a riff on the popular song…wait, what was the song called again?

Ah, yes “Crank That (Soulja Boy).” So we decided to extrapolate what happens with sailors, marines, and the Russian special forces, the Spetsnaz. The punchline came down to a choice between the Russian Reversal or a backflipping hatchet attack (Google those three words to see what we mean). We went with the former because it’s more recognizable (though somewhat less awesome).

As an interesting side effect of researching this strip, I can now perform the Soulja Boy dance flawlessly.
