Well of course if the zombie’s called Old Groaner, he has to be put down at the end of the story arc!

I would like to go on the record noting that, in fact, Pestilence does confirm the kill here. Even though Groaner’s death happens off-panel, in the omitted fourth panel he fires a second headshot into Groaner’s cranium. Then he burns the body. Then he scatters the ashes across the eastern seaboard via dirigible. It’s the only way to be sure.
