Apologies To Charles Schultz

While I respect Schultz and the work he did, Peanuts resonated with me more in its animated incarnations than in its print form. But one thing Schultz did that really struck me as impressive was the football gag. He reworked it so that the gag could encompass the entirety of human doubt, of trust, of the idea of second chances, of hope and failure. Heady stuff for a sight gag! Our take on Schultz’s gag is hardly as metaphysical but I hope it’s a worthy tribute regardless.
I cannot stop laughing at this one. Peanuts was one of my favorites, along with Calvin and Hobbes, and this was an awesome play off of the football kick!
Now if you will excuse me. I am going to go laugh at it some more.
