Just when you think it can’t get any worse! Though really, it’s Conquest’s own fault–what kind of architect installs gas pipeline utilities on day 1 of the project? Shouldn’t you…you know, do a walkthrough first? Secure some potential tenants? Really, I’m pulling these suggestions out of my butt; I have no idea how constructing and operating a building and/or adding utilities works. In fact, I’m hardly qualified to write a comic like this at all!
Mr. McCracken (originally Mr. McStairwell in the script, but that was deemed too bulky for a really minor callback gag) is modeled at least in part on Spider-Man’s employer and biggest public relations antagonist, Daily Bugle czar J. Jonah Jameson. In my mind he also shares some qualities with human waste magnate Harry King of Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels (slightly disappointed to find there were already three Google results for the phrase “human waste magnate”).
Join us Friday for the resolution of this arc–our longest yet!
Hmm, what could have been Trapface McStairwell…
